For its February 2014 issue, Harper’s Bazaar España is going back to its quirky self (which I felt they had been neglecting the last few months) and wows with an interesting cover, showing top model Adriana Lima posing for the camera in a sexy, sporty outfit by Gucci. The pose seems odd at first, but going for an unconventional cover shot eventually pays off for the Spanish edition of Harper’s Bazaar, as the juxtaposing elements make for a striking image. As for Adriana? She simply looks as gorgeous, sexy, and stunning as usual.
On the tFS forums, my enthusiasm for the cover was shared by jeffandtheworld. He posted, “Love the cover! Love the image. So striking. I wouldn't walk pass it.”
Others were more critical, like vivaglam who wrote, “Her body is on point! I like the cover pose, but I think it should've been a different pic for the cover.”
“It's a shame this was the result of something that I think had a lot of potential. The B&W image of Adriana staring down would've made a fantastic cover and in-keeping with something HB Espana might try,” analyzed marsnoop2.
Hot Cowture also liked that same shot and added, “The others don't even feel like her.”
The story was shot by photographer Nico and styled by Juan Cebrian, and I think the whole team did a fantastic job here. Are forum members being too nitpicky? In my opinion, the cover is hot. And the editorial is even hotter!
