TREND: JUMPSUITS – Part of Every Decade

Jumpsuits, like the dress, they are the one piece option that you don’t have to worry too much about. They reintroduce themselves every other decade in some updated form and usually only last a season. However, this years trend will trickle into next spring with a slightly more sexy take. Slinky knit jerseys,  light, silver cottons and sultry metalic silks were prominent on the runways. Silhouettes are both form fitting vixen and boy cut boxy, but both are modern and hint at a new femininity. Flattering, practical and easy, designers know what women want next season and aren’t afraid to give it them.

Oh so cute, Proenza Schouler gives life to this downtown girl with a light, neutral color jumpsuit layered over a chiffon blouse and paired with flat sandals.

Charlies Angel? No, but she could be. Jill Stuart get seventies slinky with knit jersey metallic stretch perfect for a night out dancing under a disco ball.

City chic, Philip Lim sends a monochromatic look down the runway paired with a high Minnie Mouse bun and polka print satchel.

Does this space suit come with oxygen? Max Mara references a hint of something out of this world in a silk charcoal one piece.

Glamorous goddess. Donna Karan wraps, twists and drapes her ladies in layers of shiny silk designed to be seen gliding down those red carpets.

Sporty in cotton or sexy in silk, there are plenty of options this season to choose from. Try picking an eccentric print accessory to contrast the look or layer the jumpsuit over a top to add a girlish twist.
