MARCHESA, INSTYLE HAIR, AND JOHN FRIEDA

Ever since Kate Beckinsale walked the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala on May 4th in a long beaded, ruffled Fall 2009 Marchesa gown, I’ve been dreaming about the upcoming Marchesa collection.

Lucky for Marchesa fans, a number of the looks were on display at the Hotel Gansevoort Penthouse in New York City on May 8th as celebrities and fashion insiders came out to celebrate InStyle Hair, a new special issue at a event hosted by John Frieda Root Awakening and Marchesa.

Models were set-up around the penthouse decked-out in a select number of looks from the collection complemented by John Frieda hair looks while Marchesa designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig roamed the room mingling with the likes of Ali Larter, Olivia Palermo, Jennifer Esposito, and Shannon Doherty.

In addition, partygoers were treated to pampering at John Frieda touchup stations. Harry Josh, a John Frieda International Creative Consultant, noted that when creating Ali Larter’s look he emphasized “how naturally healthy and vibrant her hair is. I started by spritzing hair with Root Awakening Detangling Spray, then blow dried in sections using a natural bristle brush to maintain her hair’s own health and shine. I finished the look with a styling crème to add polish to her naturally sleek, full hair.”
