JULIA FROM BUNNYBISOUS ON HER NYFW WARDROBE

Q: Position and site/profession

A: Fashion writer for Paper and 25 Magazine (and their online components), blogger of bunny BISOUS (and my daily tumblr yes! a bunny stream of conch).  Contributor to Vogue Girl Korea, Lula Scrapbook, InStyle UK, and Vogue Nippon.

Q: What will you be wearing to fashion week?

A: When I dress, it is habitually unpremeditated and spur-of-the-moment. I do wish I were more deliberate about it all as fashion week dressing is inevitably a mad dash – very hurried, impromptu, and wholly dependent on my mood.

Q: Which shows are you most looking forward to and why?

A: In New York? Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, and Marc Jacobs.  All three are on the heels of sublime showings.  I always anticipate their collections in particular inasmuch as they tend to decree the general mood and prevailing tone of the season and forecast what’s to unfold at the European shows. I’m also awaiting with pleasure the forthcoming presentations of my dear friends Peter Jensen and Rachel Antonoff (as luck would have it, whose collection I am once again styling). To take off my journalistic cloche – and on strictly personal grounds – my New York top seeds: Alexander Wang, Karen Walker, Rachel Comey, and Rag & Bone.

Q: What items are an absolute necessary to surviving and working NYFW?

A: Snacks aplenty, frequent phone calls home (to retain perspective), mobile Twitter access, and a gargantuan bag to tote all my invitations, dossiers, collection portfolios, samples, swatches, said snacks, et al. around town!

Q: Where do you break between shows?

A: Le Pain Quotidien at Bryant Park (40th St. & 6th Ave.), Kinokuniya Bookstore across from the tents, the office…
